Dr Lai Ma is Assistant Professor at School of Information and Communication Studies, University College Dublin, Ireland. She received her PhD from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2012. Her research interests are in the areas of philosophy of information, social studies of science and technology, inquiry methodology, and scholarly communication. Her recent project investigates the intended and unintended consequences of systematic storage of information, focussing on academic databases.
