Tea Vukušić Rukavina is outside of conventional frameworks in many ways, a woman who loves football, a psychiatrist who works less clinically with patients, is much more concerned with public health and mental health promotion. She works at the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb as an assistant professor.
Her scientific interests are qualitative methodology, the stigma of mental illness and health management.
True scientific-professional love is the area of the relationship between the media and health.
The infatuation with the media-health relationship began in 2001, by accident, because she was lucky to be in the right place, at the right time and with the right team.
Since then, she has led the Media and Health Symposium (except when COVID-19 takes place), trying to enhance the collaboration between health professionals and media representatives, with a trick to take them to isolated and magical places like Motovun and Grožnjan and allow them to collaborate and learn from each other.
For the past couple of years, with a team of co-workers, occasionally bothering them with emails in the wee hours of the night, she has been intensively studying how healthcare professionals behave on social media, how professional they are and whether they are aware of the “digital footprints” they leave.
